Captain Hieronymus Rimschott
Capt. Rimschott, of the Royal Hungarian Navy (exiled).
Rimschott subscribes to the British Navy's old maxim of 'rum, sodomy and the whip'.
Well, not the sodomy, to be honest, but certainly the whip, and not a little rum!
Forcibly exiled from Hungary after the political upheavals ensuing from the Treaty of Versailles, he settled in Paris in 1920 and became involved in the enthusiasm of Jazz or 'Hot Clubs'.
Rimschott moved to London in 1926 and began working the dancehall circuit.
Foxaque espied his peculiar drumming fashion and he was hired on the spot in 1929. Rimschott holds a steady rhythm from behind and beats the leather until everyone is satisfied!
